Ground Ivy
Glechoma hederacea
|
This is a very common little plant of lawns and other human habitations. Most people are not in favor of it. In fact, a Google search pulls up mostly websites on how to kill it.
On the other hand, it was brought over to America because it had many uses. It cured all sorts of illnesses. It can be made into a tea which is rich in vitamin C. It was used for brewing beer and for making cheese. It can also be thrown in a salad, although not too much since it contains terpenoids and pulegone.
