Common Dandelion

Common Dandelion
Taraxacum officinale
Does anyone not know what a Dandelion looks like?  It's perhaps the most ubiquitous plant in lawns in America.

Speaking of lawns, what's the point of a lawn?  Why does every house in America have to have a grass lawn?  If someone doesn't mow their lawn regularly they're treated as criminals.  I remember reading a newspaper article about a serial killer.  His neighbors never suspected that he was a bad guy because he always kept his lawn mowed!  Geesh, that's all it takes to get some respect in this country!!  You can have meth labs all over your house, bodies buried in the back yard, and nuclear waste stored in your basement, but as long as your lawn is mowed, you're A-OK!

Beautiful lawn!
Every child in America has picked a Dandelion seed head and blown the seeds into the wind

  1. Yeh, what's up with that?!?!?! You are so right about your lawn rant. We were cracking up and feeling equally dumbfounded by a lawns absurdity! Spring is slow in coming, but the frogs are singing and Steve spotted some marsh marigold flowering today. LOVE IT!!! Love all the violet pictures too. Hope you all are well!
