Multiflora Rose

Multiflora Rose
Rosa multiflora
Multiflora Rose can be a wicked plant, especially if you're trying to work your way through a thicket of them.

This is one of those non-native plants that plant experts thought would be great to plant everywhere for wildlife, erosion control and living fences. It quickly got out of control and is now considered an invasive weed.

It is identified by its multiple white flowers, climbing habit and pinnate leaves with 5-11 (usually 7-9) leaflets.

For you poetry lovers, here's a poem by T. C. Leonard - Multiflora Rose Woodlands.
