Upright Prairie Coneflower

Upright Prairie Coneflower
Ratibida columnifera
There are two representatives of the Ratibida genus in Indiana, this and Pinnate Prairie Coneflower (Ratibida pinnata), also known as Gray-headed Coneflower.

This species is more of a western plains plant and is rarely found in Indiana.  It is quite showy and occasionally ends up in prairie restorations in Indiana, but probably shouldn't be.
