Blue Cohosh

Blue Cohosh
Caulophyllum thalictroides
Blue Cohosh is an easily recognizable woodland plant in Indiana.  The berries in particular stand out.  As yummy as they look, they are not edible.  In fact, Blue Cohosh is used as an herbal way to induce labor.

Yum yum ... don't eat
Typical leaf pattern, very similar to Meadow Rue (Thalictrum spp.)
The cute flowers are small and short lived and hard to spot
