Foxglove Beardtongue

Foxglove Beardtongue
Penstemon digitalis
Foxglove Beardtongue is an attractive Penstemon that is grown widely in gardens, particularly wildflower gardens.  It blooms early in the season and keeps its flowers for a long time.  It competes well with other plants (weeds, if you will) and comes up year after year.  I have a couple of acres of prairie out front and some years it is just a field of white flowers in the spring.

Pretty flowers!

Opposite leaves with tiny little teeth
Whole plant
