American Bladdernut

American Bladdernut

The Bladdernut is an easy to identify shrub that grows in moist soil conditions in Indiana woodlands.  It tends to grow in small colonies, often along streams and rivers.  The pods form late in the summer and will stay on the trees all winter long.

The pods are three-celled and angular
