Tall Morning-glory

Tall Morning-glory
Ipomoea purpurea
Also known as Purple or Common Morning Glory, this plant is native to Mexico and Central America but is planted in gardens in Indiana.

The seeds of this plant contains a chemical similar to LSD and have been noted to have psychoactive properties.  They were used by Aztec priests and Zapotecs (native Mexicans) during religious ceremonies.


This plant produces stunning flowers that are fun to photograph
