Wood Anemone

Wood Anemone
Anemone quinquefolia
Wood Anemone isn't terribly common.  I've only found it in one place, Buckner Park in Fort Wayne. I'm sure its found a lot of other places, but I haven't seen it. It likes the more northern areas; northern Indiana and down the Appalachians. Perhaps it's more common in Michigan.

It's a pretty little plant that looks much like the other anemones, rue-anemone and false rue-anemone.

Each leaf has 3-5 leaflets, some with deep clefts
The plants grow in groups in nice moist woodlands
Each plant has a whorl of three leaves
